Day 1: Arrive Kununurra Clients
arriving by air will be transferred to the hotel. Today is at leisure to
explore the frontier town of Kununurra, the hub of the Ord River Irrigation
Scheme.
Accommodation: Country Club Hotel, Kununurra, 3 nights.
Day 2: Kununurra – Lake Argyle – Ord River
This morning you will be picked up from your hotel to join a cruise on Lake
Argyle. Explore the rugged beauty of the northern end of Lake Argyle and
learn about the history and development of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme.
Later visit the historic Durack Homestead. After lunch (own expense) you
will cruise along the Ord River and through magnificent Carlton Gorge. There
is an opportunity to see crocodiles, flying foxes and prolific bird life,
before returning to Kununurra at approximately 5.30pm. Afternoon tea is
included.
Day 3: Purnululu National Park
Begin the morning with a spectacular scenic flight to Purnululu National Park, passing over Lake
Argyle and the Bungle Bungle Range. Transfer to a 4 Wheel Drive vehicle
and travel to Cathedral Gorge. Walk alongside Piccaninny Creek amongst the
beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range and enjoy a picnic lunch in the
shaded gorge, before rejoining the 4 Wheel Drive for travel to Bellburn
Camp. Reboard the aircraft, passing over the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine
en route to Kununurra, arriving at approximately 5.00pm. L
Day 4: Depart Kununurra
In the morning or afternoon transfer back to Kununurra or Kununurra Airport. |

one million acres. Nestled within the Cockburn Range and on the eastern border of the
Kimberley, this working cattle station offers a rare holiday experience. Take a scenic flight,
a cruise on Chamberlain Gorge (own expense) or relax by the pool.
Accommodation: El Questro Station Township (shared
facilities) (S), Emma Gorge Resort (private facilities) (P) or El Questro
Bungalows (F), El Questro Wilderness Park.
Day 4: Depart Kununurra
In the morning or afternoon transfer back to Kununurra or Kununurra Airport. |
