Day 2 Mon: Broome ‘Free Time’
Enjoy a day at leisure exploring this tropical hideaway. You may wish to relax on magnificent Cable Beach, one of the most stunning beaches in the world, with 22km of white sand and clear tropical water. There are a number of options available and your Tour Director will be able to help you with suggestions. Perhaps take a spectacular scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago or ride a camel at sunset on the beach. Stroll through Chinatown, home to some of the world’s finest pearl showrooms.

Day 3 Tue: Derby
We travel to Derby, the oldest established town in the Kimberley, located on the tidal mud flats on the edge of the King Sound. See the famous Boab Prison Tree, believed to be around 1,500 years old and used by the police as an overnight holding cell.
Hotel: King Sound Resort, Derby.

Day 4 Wed: Geikie Gorge – Halls Creek
Travel to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing. Cruise through
spectacular Geikie Gorge which has been formed by the waters of the Fitzroy River tunnelling through the Napier Range. Watch for freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats and wallabies as the 30 metre high walls of the gorge tower above us. Later we travel to Halls Creek, on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert at the doorstep to the majestic World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park.
Hotel: Best Western Motel, Halls Creek.

Day 5 Thu: Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine
We travel just north of Halls Creek and enter the Argyle mining lease to visit the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine for a guided tour of the world's largest diamond mine, which produces one quarter of the world’s diamond annually. Continue to Kununurra.
Hotel: Lakeside Resort, Kununurra, 3 nights.

Day 6 Fri: Ord River Cruise
Cruise the placid waters of the Ord River. Keep a look out for the prolific birdlife which inhabits this water way, before arriving at Lake Argyle. We then visit the Historic Durack Homestead. See the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, Hidden Valley National Park and visit Kelly's Knob Lookout. This afternoon travel to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. See the bird life of this region and learn about traditional lifestyles. Continue to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout for sensational views over the Cambridge Gulf.
Day 7 Sat: El Questro
This morning we briefly travel along the Gibb River Road on our way to El Questro Station. Cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterhole fringed by tropical vegetation. You will then have some free time in this serene Wilderness Park. Brimming with natural wonders including magnificent mountain ranges, rambling rivers, gorges, thermal springs and vast stretches of spinifex plain, it is truly one of the world’s few remaining wild frontiers.

You will gain an appreciation of the vastness of this land as we leave Western Australia and start our journey eastwards into the Northern Territory and on to Katherine.
Hotel: Paraway Motel, Katherine.

Day 9 Mon: Darwin
We enter Nitmiluk National Park for a magical cruise on the placid waters of the Katherine River through the towering cliffs of two gorges.
